New World Record Elk Taken in Montana

Outdoor Hub Reporters Coming just days after a new whitetail world record was announced, the Boone and Crockett Club and Pope and Young Club announced that a bull from Montana taken on public land during the 2016 bow season would become the new archery world record American elk. After the mandatory 60-day drying period ended, the massive elk antlers upheld all the hype. The elk’s official entry score was confirmed at an astounding 430 inches. Clays for Kids "Ray Day" Event

Success for SCI resounded with every gunshot, as youth flocked to participate in the fifteenth annual “Ray Day” on June 4th. The carnival style event with themed sporting clay shooting stations, educational training sessions, bounce house, barbecue and more, made for lasting memories for over 225 youth. Birds Landing, a top-notch facility hunting preserve for sporting clays and upland game, seated in the town of the same name in a rural region of California’s Bay Area, hosted the event. SCI Quarterly Board Meeting

I attended the SCI Board meeting in Washington D.C. the week of May 8th. I gave the R3 committee our contact for the Boy Scouts. We are asking the Boy Scouts to have their counsels contact us about events we sponsor. We are sharing our events, a start at groups working together. Wednesday we had a CCC meeting at our DC office. This is another coalition. So far 40 to 50 groups have had some discussion. The plan is to have each group put up $10,000.00 and have a survey about the opinions of non-hunters towards hunting. From there launch a campaign to educate the general public. This will be in the millions but doable - hunting groups, sporting goods dealers, gun manufacturers, ammo company
